Amazing Grace Multicultural Education Center

Our program provides care and developmental stimulation through play-based academic growth opportunities for young children, ages 2-5 years old, in a small, home-like setting located in the beautiful Brookland/Catholic University neighborhood.

The curriculum is child-initiated which provides opportunities that support and enrich their development, learning and growing independence. The classroom is designed with various centers that include: blocks, dramatic play, art, music/movement, computers, a library, etc. Every aspect of the curriculum is infused with the literary arts which provides the children with the early basic reading skills necessary for a successful transition into elementary school. It is the goal of this program to ensure that every child is a reader before leaving Amazing Grace.

Each program component includes a balance of child and teacher activities designed to actively engage children in learning throughout the day and to promote their creative expression. Assessment is an integral part of curriculum planning. Monitoring and documentation of children's participation within the learning environment is on-going. Children's interests, strengths and needs are used to shape curricular decisions.

Nutritious meals (breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack) are included daily as well as regular outdoor activities in our on-site playground and yard.
