Amanda's Childcare Services

When I was very young, I decided that I loved working with children. I have been babysitting since I was 13. In March 2008, I started working at an Army Child Development Center, where I acquired my CDA for infants and toddlers. When my husband got out of the Army, we moved home to Richmond, and I began working for Fort Lee Child Development Centers. I was the lead teacher of two pre-toddler/ toddler rooms at their newest full-day center. Two years ago, I became the full-time caregiver in an infant room, 6 weeks-18 months, and I absolutely love what I do. However, my three year old son was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and I now need to stay home in order to care for him.

The Army provides great training, and I am a very skilled caregiver. I have maintained my CDA. I am experienced with food allergies, and giving breathing treatments. I was trained at Fort Lee in juvenile diabetes, and now have experience first-hand. I am certified in First Aid and CPR, and have successfully used both in emergency situations, saving the lives of two children. I will open this Fall, and my hours of operation will be Monday-Friday from 7:30-6:00 (with some flexibility) at $150 per week.
