Amanda Ortiz Daycare

Hi :) I am a married, Christian mother and have had a home daycare for 22 years. I have my Bachelor's degree in Community and Human Services, with a concentration in Family Service and am CPR and First Aid certified. I thoroughly enjoy caring for children and having the opportunity to watch them grow and learn :) My daycare children are read to daily, in order to aid in promoting a lifelong love of reading. I also use playtime as a learning opportunity, as I teach colors, counting, shapes, sharing and the alphabet. The children I care for enjoy doing puzzles, coloring, painting and doing arts & crafts. We have a dedicated daycare room in our house with a half bath for hand washing & potty training. Our daycare room also has a door to our fully-fenced backyard, where the children enjoy riding bikes & ride-on toys, going down slides, coloring with sidewalk chalk, catching bubbles & just running around playing :) I love children and have the patience, reliability and trustworthiness to provide a safe and fun environment for them. I have previously been employed by a childcare facility and I was also a "big sister" in a local mentoring program. I have several references of previous daycare families, including a local pediatrician. I provide a daily take-home report of each child's day from newborn-age 2, which can be continued longer if the parents would like. I believe children are a blessing and I consider it an honor to be selected as their care provider. :)
