Altoona 8th Street Child Care

Our mission is to be a place where your child can learn and grow, while safely exploring the joy of being a child. Our philosophy is for children to feel safe and loved in an environment where both center play and teacher-directed activities are offered. Children are given the opportunity to explore and participate in hands-on experiences that promote creativity and socialization, in an environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

We are a state-licensed facility, and the only QRS-rated child care center in our community. We are currently a 3-Star QRS-rated child care center and will be applying for our 4-Star QRS rating soon. Our full-time staff members receive over 30 hours of training every year, and are also very experienced and highly qualified. Most of our full-time staff work 10 hour days, which offers the children consistency throughout the day and offers our families great communication. We also offer integrated preschool into all of our classrooms starting at the age of 3-years-old at no additional fee, with no worries about transportation. We use Creative Curriculum center-wide, and positive behavioral support to offer a well-rounded program of cognitive, physical, language, social and emotional development.
