Alicia Ford

Hi! My name is Alicia F. and ever since I can remember, I wanted to be a teacher of young children. My experience dealing with children began when I as a young teen as I babysat on evenings and weekends for friends and family. In 9th-12th grade, I participated in our Child Development Class which ran a preschool. Through that experience, it solidified my desire to become a teacher. I then began working at a local daycare and stayed there for the better part of 9 years (give and take a few months for college courses). During that time, I was also a counselor for a summer day camp for 4 years and later became the Director for two. I pursued my teaching degree and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood. As soon as I graduated, I took a position as a 5th grade teacher and loved it! Unfortunately, the charter school was closed and I found myself wondering what to do. After a lot of thought and support from my husband, I have decided to pursue a dream to open my own daycare/preschool. So here I am... you have to start somewhere and I'd love the opportunity to provide exceptional care for your child while you work.
