About

Hi! I'm an instructional assistant in an elementary classroom. I'm running a summer camp in my home this summer from Thursday, May 29th until Friday August 8th (the full summer break for Washington Elementary School District). I have 4 open slots for school-aged children, but I can probably take younger siblings as well. I have a nine-year-old son at home with me.

My focus is primarily on social and emotional development with an emphasis on civics and academics. I maintain an inclusive environment where each child is treated fairly and with respect. Your child will be valued for his strengths and will be celebrated for the person he is. I value diversity and encourage acceptance of all people.

I will provide age/grade-level appropriate activities for each child and engage them in group activities. Weekly themes will be based on the children's interests. Optional workshops offered to your child will be tailored to their interest and skill level, and may include chess, crafts, cooking, science, civic exploration, photography, gardening, etc. We will have park activities (in the mornings before it becomes hot) such as organized games, scavenger hunts, or free play. Towards the end of the summer we will have a tie-dye party.

I provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Your child's food allergies and your nutritional preferences will be strictly observed. I serve healthy balanced meals free of most dyes, preservatives, and artificial additives. Most of what we eat is organic. If your child requires special dietary items such as almond milk, gluten-free items, etc, I will ask you to provide them. Our home is a non-smoking home and we have all toxins locked up. We have 2 friendly outside dogs whose shots are current, and 2 indoor/outdoor cats.

I have a current level one fingerprint clearance card and I am CPR/First Aid certified. I have many years of experience with children of all ages and abilities. I am trained in crisis prevention and have worked extensively with children who have behavioral, emotional, and physical disabilities. I charge $25 per child per day. Hours are negotiable. Please call, text, or email with any questions or to schedule an interview. I look forward to working with your child this summer!
