I have my elementary teaching degree and 28 years of experience with my own in-home preschool/daycare. I LOVE my chosen profession! We cook soups, meals, drinks, desserts, snacks. We play active group games and preschool games. We play with the 12' foot parachute in the big fenced backyard and the 6' parachute indoors. We play with sensory tables and water tables. We play musical instruments and we do scarf dancing and lumi sticks, we act out stories to music, learn dances and use hoops, balls and bean bags with music. We make crafts and we paint. We paint with everything you can think of - paint brushes, Q-tips, eggs, marbles, golf balls, string, feathers, fruits, vegetables, our fingers and we have even been known to make mural paintings with our feet! We have special theme days such as Fizzy Foamy Day, Splish-splash Rain Day, Pizza Day, Goodnight Moon Day, Watermelon Day and so on. We even have our own preschool Olympics! We play with puzzles, laces and stringing objects, pegboards, blocks and more. We learn science. What sinks and what floats? What do magnets do? What is weather? We study insects and animals. We learn simple addition and subtraction through finger plays and flannel board stories and other games. Naturally, we learn the alphabet and numbers and shapes and we even learn safety.
I am licensed, and like every licensed provider, I am certified in both CPR and First Aid and take 15 hours of early childhood education every year. I'm on a food program which means you are guaranteed your child has nutritious meals. I've provided care for the children of policemen, teachers, doctors and other professionals, and I'm happy to provide you with references.
