Our Adult Respite Services provide respite care for area caregivers wishing to help their loved one age in place. Our services are designed to enhance the quality of life for older adults, and to provide short-term respite for their caregivers.

We offer two programs: Adult Respite Day Service and Adult Respite In-Home Services.

Our Adult Respite Day Service is located in the Lansing School District Welcome Center (Formerly Elmhurst Elementary). Our day service offers engaging activities such as music, arts and crafts, chair exercises/walking, games and community service projects. A nutritious, hot meal is provided at lunch time, along with snacks and beverages throughout the day. Our staff is a team of dedicated professionals, and is assisted by volunteer staff from our Senior Companion program.

Our Adult Respite In-Home Program offers clients engagement in activities such as reading, arts and crafts, letter writing, games or conversation. Our ARS volunteers visit the homes of their clients two to four hours a week, and provide socialization and support to their clients through positive interactions.

(Through the generosity of ARS volunteers, the in-home service is provided at no cost to clients, and the day service is offered for little to no cost to qualified families.)
