About the business
ActAble aims to provide community access to arts and play-based activities, to create opportunities for participants to strengthen individual abilities, family functions, cultural identities, and cross-cultural communications to improve quality of life.
What we do best are the educational and therapeutic uses of arts and play.
Our Programs
Project-Based Learning
Explore real-life topics through reading, model-making, creative writing, doing research, and discussion as well as presentation. Based on Project-Based Learning (PBL), you will learn about the STEM and social aspects of a topic, and demonstrate your understanding, opinion, or solution.
Objectives
It aims to promote problem-solving skills and literacy. Our focus is on the essential aptitudes that lead to success in your studies, SHSAT or SAT/ACT exams, and beyond.
Real-life topics enable you to apply knowledge into practice. Learning is fun and effective when we approach it through different modalities, which encourages intrinsic motivation towards learning. In addition, we prepare you to make future portfolios and career choices through discovering and working on interests that reflect your skills, talents, and potentials.
Parent-Child Creative Arts Workshops for Children with Special Needs
Wondering how to support your child to explore their sensory environment? Need ideas on how to communicate with your child in multiple ways, then our parent-child creative arts workshops can serve your needs. The workshops aim to strengthen social interactions, promote cognitive and emotional development, and foster self-expression. Participants will have the unique experience of interacting with each other and learning through creative art making and activities.
Our approaches include art-making (drawing, painting, sculpture, and collage), multi-sensory experiences, kinetic movements, storytelling, and group collaboration. Parents and children work together as pairs. All materials will be provided, and no prior art-making experience is required.
