Hello! Let me give you a little background on myself. I'll try to be brief! I live on the north side of Madison with my husband and 2 children. I graduated from UW-Madison in the summer of 1992 with a BA in Communication Disorders/Speech Pathology. After getting my degree, I followed my then boyfriend (now husband) to Chicago (Lincoln Park). Instead of continuing on to Graduate School, I decided to pursue a career in Retail. After working in Retail Management for a few years, I knew it wasn't for me. Ithen found a job working in Collections for a bank in the suburbs. After my first child was born, I never returned to work. Best decision I ever made! Fast forward...when my children got old enough I went back to school for Nursing. I completed all of my prerequisites for the RN program at MATC-Madison and was patiently awaiting for my number to come up so I could begin the program. Well, I always thought that as my kids got older they would need me less...WRONG!!! I knew I would have to put my studies on hold. It just wouldn't be fair to my family or myself. After I had taken my CNA class for the program, I started working as a CNA at an Assisted Living Facility. After that, I started working with seniors in an one on one environment. It is the most rewarding job I have ever had (except for raising my kids of course!). I believe this is my destiny. The road I was to take. It just took me a while to get here!
