A Step Above Private Preschool

I am a licensed Elementary Education Teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Humanities. In addition to my education, my qualifications include many years of experience as a Preschool Teacher and as a Nanny for children of all ages. I have recently opened an in-home preschool program for 5 children between the ages of 2-5 years. It will be a professionally run preschool with a schedule including: Circle Time, Art, Music, Science and Outdoor Discovery.

I know how hectic life can get for parents and how difficult it can be to enforce rules on children (especially when they have several adults influencing them). This inspired me to turn my program into the perfect combination of both a school and home atmosphere.

Some perks from this combination include:
*Always a 5:1 ratio (children are never shuffled around to meet ratio requirements).
*More personal attention
*Mixed ages so children can help and learn from each other.
* Family style meals are included (I also provide toothbrushes, wet wipes, combs, cots and sheets).
* (3+) Homework is optional but recommended (all papers and activities will be discussed in class but, parents will be able to help their children without being given a deadline).
* Television is allowed only when a movie is scheduled for the theme of the week (or if weather prohibits outdoor activity for an extended period of time). Only G rated movies will be shown unless I have written permission from all parents to watch PG rated movies.
*No internet access for children (approved downloaded games only)
*Safety features throughout the house include: gates, locks, ADT security system. All toxic chemicals and chocking hazards are stored high and locked with child safety latches.
*Daily schedules to help children learn routine.

My main goal is to turn play time into subtle learning experiences while keeping your children safe, happy and loved. I embrace the creativity of a young mind, and I believe in adapting to a child's interests to help them explore and develop their sense of self.
