We are a tutoring service that focuses on the unique learning style of each child. We start with an assessment to determine the learning style (auditory, visual, or kinesthetic) and specific needs of each child. We then develop an individualized learning plan based on that learning style. We work hard to fill any gaps in learning and increase the child's confidence, success, and attitude. We strongly believe in working as a team and we remain in contact with the child's teacher in order to stay on top of what areas need to be focused on or where they are struggling.
In addition to tutoring one-on-one, we offer on-line classes that use interactive whiteboards, video, and audio so the child and tutor can communicate as if they are in the same room.
The number of homeschooling families in Florida is on the rise so we offer tools and services to aid these families as well. A Grade Above offers portfolio and progress evaluations that include an interview with the parents and child and review of the student's portfolio. We also aid in administering standardized tests as are required by Florida law for homeschooling children.
