A Cozy Little Cottage is a high-quality home daycare in Logan, Utah, dedicated to providing a positive, healthy environment. Our daily schedule is nurturing, stimulating, and fun!

I focus on:

Nature-based Outdoor Play: A connection with the natural world is crucial to a child s development. Research has shown that spending time outdoors is an important part of a child s overall physical and mental well-being. We spend a good portion of our days outside.

Healthy Environment: I follow the Eco-Healthy Child Care Program guidelines to minimize exposure to lead, radon, mercury, and toxic chemicals commonly found in homes, buildings, household items and children's toys.

Real Food: You will find no Lucky Charms or corn dogs here! We eat only real food, free from artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, hydrogenated oils, and high-fructose corn syrup. Sugar is extremely limited.

Play-based Learning: I use open-ended toys and "loose parts" both inside and outside to spark a child's imagination and help them to develop problem-solving and logical thinking skills. I strive to create an environment that offers opportunity and challenge.

Communication: Nonviolent Communication (NVC) skills are taught and practiced here. We use NVC skills to express our feelings and needs in a healthy way and to understand the feelings and needs of others.

Limited Screen Time: I use screen time only in limited situations to support the preschool curriculum. For example, we may watch a short clip of a symphony performance during our music lesson.
