I brought my dog here for the first time over the weekend. About 15 minutes before the appointment the owner/groomer called to say her assistant never showed up. My first thought was why is that my concern? It was very odd. We asked if she still wanted us to bring our dog in and she said yes.

I was disappointed as soon as I walked in. Her website claims she's not a typical groomer and only grooms 1 dog at a time, but when we got there she was still working on another dog. We asked how long it would take for our dog to be groomed and she said 3 hours and that she would call 1 hour before she was done. 3 hours after we left we still hadn't heard from her, so we called. She said she couldn't trim my dogs nails without her assistant there but her assistant was supposed to be there in 30 minutes -- keep in mind my senior dog who is terrified at the groomer had already been there 3 hours. It seemed absolutely ridiculous that we were having to wait and our dog had to stay there because she doesn't know how to run a business and her assistant didn't show up. She told us it would be another 1.5 hours before our dog was done -- That's a total of nearly 5 hours to groom a small dog.

When we arrived to pick up our dog the owner/groomer kept making excuses as to why it took so long -- none of which had anything to do with my dog. She said she was running behind because she runs her business by herself, her assisant didn't show up, etc. When she FINALLY got my dog from the back I picked my dog up, and the owner/groomer forcefully grabbed my dogs leg to show me how she groomed my dog's leg/stomach. That was the last straw for me. This groomer has a horrible temperament and definitely isn't professional.

I guess I would expect this sort of horrible experience if I were paying very little to have my dog groomed; however, her prices are absolutely outrageous (you don't know that in advance because she doesn't tell you the price). I will absolutely never take my dog back to this place, and unless you like waiting around 5-6 hours to have your dog groomed by a person who doesn't even know how to hire a good assistant, I wouldn't recommend taking your dog here either.

Also, this groomer didn't tell me when I picked my dog up that my dog had been cut on her lower stomach during the grooming process. The laceration was so bad that it required a trip to the vet and 2 weeks of prescription topical ointment to heal.
