5 Key Factors that make 5 Senses Academy what it is!
1- Engagement Of All Five Senses: Babies begin absorbing sounds and motions into their rapidly growing nervous systems before they are even born. We believe that engaging all five senses will maximize learning opportunities and improve mental acuity and physical development. Our curriculum is designed to involve all five senses every single day. Our lessons will enable our students to see, hear, smell, taste, and touch what they are learning, which in turn will allow them to process the information more effectively.
2- Focus on Literacy: 5 Senses Academy has created its own literacy program, the Reading Partnership and Alliance (RPA). Through RPA we partner with parents to extend learning beyond our four walls, engaging the parents in the learning process.
3- Create Learning Opportunities Through Play: It is a proven fact that, at play, children receive the foundations for basic life skills. For example, it is at play that they learn practical socialization skills such as cooperation, negotiation, compromise, and how to build relationships with their peers. While playing with Blocks they learn spatial relationships, hand-eye coordination, muscle control, and problem-solving concepts. While playing (pretend) children learn how the world works, learn responsibility, creativity, and concentration. When engaging in art they learn to develop thought, to control their small motors, symbolism, and the concept of lighter and darker. When playing in water and sand they learn sinking, floating, volume, and to measure. When exploring Science they learn logical thought, to build theories, and how to reason. It is for this reason that we employ the Creative Curriculum. Our goal is to use play to offer the child an emotional outlet, which, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, gives children the opportunity to be creative, imaginative, and solve problems. Play teaches children the skills that set the stage for who they become tomorrow.
4- Passionate Owner: I am dedicated to helping children form a foundation for the future. I believe that if I can help a child discover their learning style early in life--whether it is Spatial, Auditory, Linguistic, Kinesthetic, Mathematical, Interpersonal or Intrapersonal--the child will be more apt to reach their full learning potential in life.
5- Most importantly!! We put God Back into Early Childhood Education.
